6th/7th Grade Teacher

I believe learning begins with curiosity and grows through exploration. At Sugar Maple Nature School, I love helping students ask questions, investigate the natural world, and discover how science, nature, and community are connected. Outdoor learning creates powerful opportunities for students to observe, experiment, and build a deeper understanding of the ecosystems around them.

I graduated from Unity Environmental University with a degree in Environmental Science focused on Wildlife Conservation. My background and passions center on conservation, land restoration, and water quality programs, and I have also worked with nonprofit organizations focused on organic farming and sustainable agriculture. These experiences shape how I approach teaching by helping students see how environmental science connects to real-world stewardship and community responsibility.

At SMNS, I enjoy guiding students through hands-on learning experiences that bring science and inquiry to life. Whether students are studying habitats, exploring waterways, tapping maple trees, or investigating the plants and wildlife in our park, my goal is to help them develop both scientific thinking and a lasting connection to the natural world.

Outside of school, you can usually find me outdoors. I love gardening, traveling, camping, hiking, and spending time exploring new places. I also enjoy outdoor sports like golfing and snowboarding. My constant adventure companion is my blue-heeler mix rescue from Texas named Juniper, who happily joins me on long walks and reminds me to slow down and appreciate the small wonders in nature.
