In first grade, when my teacher asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I said I wanted to be the next Survivor Man. Although times have changed, my love for the outdoors has remained the same. The outdoors always served as an escape for me, providing a sense of adventure while allowing me to learn about the world driven by my own curiosity. I believe that education should be the same way. Being a part of the great community of ROLES, I am elated to have the opportunity to bring adventure to the classroom each day. I am passionate about building a positive classroom culture that provides more autonomy, life skills, and engagement all within the great outdoors.
I have been spending my time outdoors for as long as I can remember. Some of my earliest memories include backpacking, fishing, camping, geocaching, catching salamanders and even forging for mushrooms. Many summers were spent visiting my uncle's dairy farm, where I was able to help care for the animals and create my own adventures in the vast amount of land. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay which introduced me to the idea of outdoor education. I have spent the last two summers working at a sleep away camp in the beautiful state of Maine, where I had the pleasure of teaching campers how to waterski and lead many incredible adventure trips.
One of the greatest things about Wisconsin is having many different hobbies throughout the year. During the warmer seasons, I am spending the majority of my time wakeboarding on Lake Delavan, camping around our incredible state parks, and fishing with my dad. In the winter, you can find me snowboarding, playing hockey and snowshoeing at my uncle's cabin. Some of my other passions include playing the guitar, traveling and watching the Green Bay Packers with my family.
I am beyond honored to be a part of this great community and can't wait to begin an exciting new adventure!
